Licence Validation FAA or JAA to Brazil

I hold both JAA CPL/IR and FAA ATP and wish to get some sort of
Brazilian Licence or a Licence to fly Aircraft under 12500lbs on
the Brazilian Registry.
I would have thought under ICAO I would get either a Private or
Commercial with an instrument rating.
Does anybody have any ideas on this or experience of it themselves.
Many thanks;)

You can fly many N registered aircraft in Brazil with your FAA licensebut if you plan on flying for the airlines then you need to have citizenships.
The process for licence conversion is long with lots of red tape so it takes some time to get your Brazilian license. I converted mine back in 2004 and it took 8 months.
