Orland Flight Training

Hey Guys,

Im planning to go onto the JAA Pro Pilot Course at Orland Flight Training. What are peoples thoughts on OFT, can anyone shed any light?! Or does anyone know of any other schools/academy's in and around Florida.

Thanks,

Ryan

I dont really think redundant is the correct word (how to do make the top job redundant but keep all the instructors who work under him...tell me that ?), and from what I hear he was instantly replaced and the place is nice and quiet(but full of students) and ticking along just fine now. Heck it might even be a better place to go train now...who knows!

But I wouldn't write them off yet just because of a staffing issue, remember we are all replaceable(you learn this very quickly as a professional pilot), and that seems to be the case here, time for change is all it was.

Well its pretty true all instructors and staff are replacable, but it depends on what circumstance. I had dealings with OFT 2-3 years ago when I started training, instructors were great people, andrew was my examiner and he was very professional and laid back. Got the slots on time, though he could be abit grumpy somtimes, but I guess it comes with the stress of the job. OFT used to keep changing the fuel surcharge prices and training was always 25% or more the predicted price you was expecting/advised to pay. I have a friend going there to build hours and do his CPL there soon... hopefully maybe i'll hear some good news about the new CFI and OFT soon...

:ok:

Don't do it. Train somewhere else, a lot of us here now want to leave but unfortunately there are financial penalites lined up if we do so. The instructors are MAINLY great people as they were once in our position, however there are issues which have been mentioned about oft for years and years.. DO listen to the rumours about them, when things cost twice as much as quoted it starts you to thinking. Play it safe, go somewhere else.
