Cpl Costs At St George Flight Training?
Hi,
Does anyone know what the current hourly CPL dual training rates are at st georges flight training for the PA28 and PA28R? Been trying to contact the school and get a price and just cant seem to get through. Any replies appreciated in advance MAX |
Hi, have a look at the web site St George Flight Training Ltd
The school has recently expanded to Newcastle Airport, if your having trouble getting through ring the Durham Tees Valley school. You should be able to find the number on the website. :) |
Thanks for the replies. I did check the website states POA for the complex so i called the school at Teeside and the woman who answered could not understand that i wanted a price for a 15hr cpl as i already hold a valid MEIR so no need for the full course. She firstly gave me a price of £368PH for an PA28R she just divided the amount of the full course by 25! After this mistake she just turned arund and said i dont know what the price is and just kept repeating the cost of the full 25hr course?? Why do they hire these people in the first place is my question!!
So because i was unable to get an answer i thought i would try here so thanks for the replies and i guess ill still have to search for a school near as Newcastle is my local and im looking to do it part time whilst working so cant travel away. NOTABOVE1500 have you had a bad experience with this school? thanks MAX |
If you look on the website, you will find the mobile number of the schools owner/cfi. Give him a call direct.
Sometimes the intricate detail of pilot licence queries is lost on the hired help on the front desk, perhaps more used to selling trial lessons and chinagraph pencils. St Georges have been around for quite a while as a profitable, established school, offering value for money training. Eric, the owner even longer in the GA world. Whilst some might have a personal axe to grind, you could do alot worse. |
After looking on St George's website, their professional pilot training course doesn't list an Instrument Rating as a part of the course. Is it included with the CPL training or do they just not give you one? Isn't that a serious barrier to actually being a professional pilot?

Simple reason its not advertised - is that they don't offer the instrument rating. Schools pay hefty fee's to the caa for the privelege of teaching the various courses. For a small school to teach the MEIR requires a significant level of investment in instructors/aircraft/simulators/facilities etc.
Remember people get a cpl for different reasons. If you want to instruct then you could do a CPL and FI rating with them. The whole point of modular training is that you train at your own pace. If after a while you want an IR then go somewhere that offers it. The best people to speak to is the CFI at the school in question. Be brave, pick the phone up or go and see them. :ok: |
I don't think they do the CPL/MEP so i think it may be worth asking when you ring. I've looked at this but I require a CPLMEP so havent gone there
