ATPL Theory distance course

Does anyone know if one pursues a JAA ATPL distance course for example Oxford out of the U.K. and passes, do you have to do your flight training in the U.K. or wil it be honoured in other JAA countries?

Totally depends on the country I think, some do, others don't.

Greece does for example, while Austria will not. Best is to get that info from the aviation authority of the country you desire.

The reply I got for this question from the UK CAA is that you have to do your CPL under a UK CAA approved flight school.
However the ratings such as MEP and IR can be done in any JAA member state.

cheers

You've got to your training under one banner, so if you do the ATPLs under CAA, then the flying has to be under CAA. I don't know about the situation with ratings, maybe Daniel777 could tell you where to check, just to put your mind at rest.
