Logbook faff

Hello all,

This is a bit nibby I know but I'd like to get it right from the start.
Getting a PPL soon and would like opinions on which log book to use, private or commercial? I'll end up flying airlines (hopefully) when I leave the service in a few years, so is it best to start straight with a commercial/professional logbook and keep all my civvie hours together to save a faff in the future?

Thanks.

I think either is fine. To be honest, for most people starting off on their PPL I would recommend a small private logbook. The reason for this is that they do tend to get tatty and a bit dog eared over time. Once one is filled ( and that can take some years) it can for the most part, be filed away.
I fly about 600 - 650 hours a year and the commercial logbooks I use (CAA CAP 407) take about 10 years a piece, to complete. With everyday use and residing in a high traffic flight bag, they usually need laminating at around year 6, to stop them falling apart.
