ATPL validity with MEIR and no CPL
I wondered if somebody knew off the top of their head to avoid a Lazors trawl. I have completed all 14 ATPLs last year and MEIR in November - I have not completed the CPL and may not for a while due to finances.
How long do the ATPLs remain valid? 6 have been secured for the IR presumably.:ok: |
Theory credit is 7 years from the end of the month in which the last exam was passed but only if the IR is passed within 3 years of that date. Normally this means that the CPL is then considered a frozen ATPL. You must get the CPL IMHO before those 3 years are up or there will be nothing to unfreeze. Good that you have ME/IR but don't delay CPL too long or you will lose everything!

Um, partly correct.
You have 3 years from the last exam pass to get the CPL and the IR. Once you have both, the exams last 7 years from the time you passed the IR or from the latest revalidation. If you keep your IR valid your ATPL passes remain valid indefinitely for upgrading to an ATPL - but only if you have a CPL/IR! How that changes with EASA is anybodies guess, though. |
What is EASA?
