Costs to Frozen ATPL

I already have a PPL IMC / Night and intend complete a CPL/IR. The chosen route will be distance learning probably at Cranfield CATS and complete as much Part time as I can to keep earning atb the same time.

The costs first time (I think are as follows?).
  • Cat1 medical cost?
  • Cranfield Ground CATS £999 + exam fees ?? ..what are they?
  • Hour Building I have my own AA5 so know these costs (£60/hr)
  • ME CPL course 5K + exam cost?
  • Instructor Course 5k ? (part time?)
  • IR 11k plus test??:{
any comments .......

Cheers !

Exams are £63 each

Shiver me timbers! 30th March 2008 11:43

The medical is £310 for the initial JAR class 1 at Gatwick. The instructor course is more likely to be around the £7k mark assuming you complete it in the UK (not sure if you can do it elsewhere).

I've been doing some budgeting recently. I tend to add £1k to each module, i.e. distance learning, hour building, CPL, IR etc, as there are quite a few hidden expenses i.e. ground school accommodation and living expenses for brush-ups, license fee issuances etc.

ME CPL course 5K + exam cost?
IR 11k plus test??
Think you might be better off having a CPL + ME-IR (this will change to costs a fair amount).
