Dream on...

I dream about how one day I'll get on that flight deck, after finishing a grueling 12-18 months of training... and I was just wondering about what airline (if i had the choice of ANY) I would like to work for...

I fancy Virgin Atlantic, so who would you guys like to work for???

Nav420 31st January 2008 11:33

Emirates and British Airways

CAT3C AUTOLAND 31st January 2008 18:07

BMI for me :E

Callsign Kilo 31st January 2008 18:25

Anyone to be honest!

Life's a Beech 31st January 2008 21:04

Not really an airline, but British Antarctic Survey.

no sponsor 31st January 2008 21:12

Yep, I'd quite fancy the British Antarctic flying, or maybe a seaplane job in some pacific island.

mb2ai 31st January 2008 22:02

because im an arsenal fan

Emirates!!! Theres just somthing about them!!

Irish_Stu 31st January 2008 22:32

I'm hoping for Concorde, don't mind if it's with BA or Air France....

:}

Failing that, Virgin would be pretty good methinks :ok:

jock wannabe 31st January 2008 23:35

Ah..ta-be-shure Irish Stu, ..you’ll be fine with a wee Concorde job!

I hear farmer Pat O’Malley in Antrim has ‘procured’ a Concorde to spray his potato crops.

The take offs and landings should be fine as long as you go along the furrows and not across them!:)

Davina777 1st February 2008 08:32

Wow, everyone has got such different opinions!

Corcorde eh, I'm sure there wouldn't be much of the field left after you've sprayed it! lol.

MIKECR 1st February 2008 09:23

Anyone that'll give me a job would be good!!! Failing that, Emirates would be nice!

Nozwaldo 1st February 2008 11:00

FlyBe for me but I won't be in a position to be choosy.

Good luck to all with your dreams

Noz

dartagnan 1st February 2008 11:10

NASA...airlines suck:*!

ReallyAnnoyed 1st February 2008 11:26

The now sadly defunct Hooters Air :D

Pilotpaul787 1st February 2008 11:56

Eventually Virgin Atlantic...then perhaps Virgin Galactic;)

Irish_Stu 2nd February 2008 14:26

I think the Dash 8 is kinda cool actually... :O

Funny that someone mentioned Virgin Galactic, wonder what the pilot requirements are for that. Must look it up...

eliasg17 2nd February 2008 16:29

Aegean Airlines or Olympic Airlines!:ok:

student88 3rd February 2008 09:26

I'd just *love* to work for Ryanair!

S88

Davina777 3rd February 2008 14:03

OMG did someone say Ryanair? Oh your being sarcastic.. thought I was gonna have to inform Ryanair that they are now not the bottom of the popularity contest.. lol! tehehe..xx

preduk 3rd February 2008 14:33

(Please don't hurt me :P :() For a first job I would like to fly for an airline like Ryanair or Easyjet... Don't know why I just think it looks good, however I'm well aware there are a lot of problems behind the scenes.

In the future I would like to end up on the 767 or 777 flying routes into the states and Canada.

SpamFritters 3rd February 2008 15:30

Hi Davina,
I see your nearby!!

Being honest.. after pilot training I will be happy to fly with whoever.. I'm getting into it for the flying.. so i'll be happy.

Although have to say going into BA would be pretty Dandy.. if not that flying for Air Southwest based at Newquay sounds pretty awesome

Long term... either BA or VA if I had my way.
But who knows!

Take care.
SpAM

Davina777 3rd February 2008 16:03

Owww, I'm sure once your in the door and settled a good living can be made from Ryanair, I just don't think they do themselves any favors sometimes from their penny pinching ways. I'd work for easyjet in a heartbeat though, mind you I wouldn't exactly say no to ryanair either! :O

preduk 3rd February 2008 16:22

To be honest, I wouldn't really care who I flew for, it's far to easy to say; "I'm going to fly for _________ when I qualify". At the end of the day its whoever offers you the job lol

The only airline I would have real concerns working for, would be FlyBe. I went to their open day at Glasgow Uni and wasn't very impressed. I don't fancy getting stuck on the props, although I'm sure they would be great to fly, it's just not what I want to do.

norton2005 3rd February 2008 16:44

Don't mind who I start off with but I'd love to end up with BA or virgin doing long haul.

bluepeely 3rd February 2008 19:07

Virgin would be good , dickie seems a good boss to have

SpamFritters 4th February 2008 09:50

But preduk.. isn't flying..... flying?

Props are a very good way of hour building. I certainly wouldn't say no. :}

5L727 4th February 2008 14:13

I'd to fly for Emirates, KLM or Qatar.

preduk 4th February 2008 16:26

Spam,

You could say that about most things in life, surely driving is driving? Surely you should get the same experience driving a Ford Focus as you do driving a Range Rover, but you don't.

To me there are different levels of flying and I think jets are better than props. I'm not an airline pilot so that opinion doesn't really go for anything, I'm sure there will be many pilots that think I'm way off.

GeorgEGNT 4th February 2008 17:43

Loganair , Twin Otter, Glasgow - Barras. Spot on :p If not, easyJet is favourable, but truthfully anyone who'll have me! :}

shocks 5th February 2008 09:19

BA, Lufthansa or Virgin Atlantic would be nice eventually, but i'd be happy with nearly any airline to start with.

Diaz 5th February 2008 21:26

anyone- just let me in a damn jet!

except ryanair:hmm:

jenni225 11th February 2008 19:44

Emirates :)

EIRE-PLANER 11th February 2008 20:05

A Shamrock Airbus would be nice. :)

Put1992 11th February 2008 20:43

Easyjet while im young

There great!

flyasthesky 11th February 2008 20:51

I hear you Eire-Planer it would be nice, I would take anything I was given, even a paper airplane. In Fantasy land I'd like Emirates or Virgin Atlantic.

PPRuNe user 103842 11th February 2008 20:55

YORKSHIRE AIRLINES!!!!

or just anyone who'd have me....

Martin1234 11th February 2008 21:34

I would love to work for Stevens Express Leasing Inc. I would fancy going to destinations such as Afghanistan and Cuba but also to stop for "refuel" in the former eastern Europe. I also believe that I could go the extra mile in order to make sure that the "pax" can enjoy a VVIP environment. Rumours say that all "pax" so far recommend the company to others. Yet, I don't understand why they insist not to include the VVIP pax when filing the flight plan?

PPRuNe user 103842 11th February 2008 21:42

Air Iraq, Aeroflop
