Halfpenny Green Accomodation

I'm thinking of booking up my IR here, but wanted to check out local accomodation available & prices before committing.

Has anybody got any recommendations from past experience?? I don't want to be too far, nor too exensive! So that local Country Club with the 18-hole course may have to wait for another time.

Many thanks for any comments.

Bridgnorth

Hi,

I did my MCC with WHFC last year and stayed in Bridgnorth. Only takes about 10 - 15 mins to get to the flight centre from there.

I stayed in two B&B's when I was there, both very hospitable, quiet, clean and within walking distance of High/Low town!

Do a search in google, or as you say, speak to the instructors. Richard will sort you out.

Enjoy the IR!

Did my MCC at WFC and stayed at the Laurels B&B - www.thelaurelsbandb.co.uk/index.htm

Absolutely first class, swimming pool aswell as all the usual comforts from home. The landlady(good ol' Josie!) even made me lunch everyday at no extra cost! Its roughly 5 minutes drive from the airfield and theres a reasonable little pub just a few minutes walk up road from the B&B. Myself and my mcc partner ate there every night, not expensive either. PM if you like and I'll give you all the details(cost etc).

What is WFC? ;) HGFC have an accommodation list. The staff are willing to venture opinions on certain places.

Now will you have Malcolm or Philip if you go ahead? :)

WFC - 'Wolverhampton Flight Centre'(when I was there). Perhaps its changed its name since then though.

Nice to see the spelling Police are put again aswell!!:=:ugh::ugh:

I thought it was Wolverhampton International? ;)

BlueRobin 20th October 2007 23:08

A man of your experience will have used the correct term ;)

Many thanks for all your help on this matter! Much appreciated.

MikeCR, I'll take a good look at that B&B - first impressions are that it looks very nice indeed!

BR thought I saw you today approaching Bridgenorth around 3ish, at Mach2 in the silver rocket:ok:

BlueRobin 23rd October 2007 20:25

Nah wasn't me. By rocket I assume you mean riding the skip with vRS on the back? http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/images.../ht_charge.gif

I think the Six Ashes place is quite popular.

Have they got rid of their PA34s and gone for DA42s now?

AdamLT 22nd November 2007 21:43

Just doing my PPL there atm. Great little school indeed.
They have DA42's there.

Get in touch with Angela Lapworth. She will help you out with accommodation. all the best with the IR :)

Yes - but there is a PA44 Seminole available for those who want a more conventional aeroplane.
