hello guys, I'm having some trouble with great circle calculations!
I am trying to find distances between two points, but with no result! Could anybody help me please? The question is: '' The great circle distance between position A (59°34.1 N 008°08.4'E) and B (30°25.9'N 171° 51.6W) The ansewrs are: 10800km , 2700Nm, 10800Nm, 5400 Nm Help me pleaaase:uhoh: |
Ahah....takes some cunning to spot this one.
Look at the longitudes - It's on a meridian and its antimeridian. Go over the North pole and do it as a change of latitude calculation, with 1 minute of lat = 1nm. |
shame on me, I didn't realize it was the anti meridian....!
Thanks a lot for illuminating me |
