Flight Instructor or ME CIR ?

Hi There,
I'm very new here so excuse the naievity when it occurs.

I'm going to be doing an integrated University course next year for Aviation, and would like to know if anyone can offer up some advice as to what rating is better to have, or offers more chances of employment. We are given the choice after completing CPL of attaining either Flight Instruction or Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating, what is a better way of attaining the experience and hours for future employment with the major airlines, while still making a dollar to survive?

Just for reference I live in Melbourne Australia, and I'm 21yrs old.

Any insights or opinions would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Tim
