PPSC Meteorology DVD
 

Hello Guys

I have managed to get my hands on the PPSC Meteorology DVD Video, which I indend to use for the exams. Has anyone used this video, and how good are they.

I also know PPSC closed about 3 - 4 years ago, does this mean the video is now out of date ? Thanks.

No replys, well, guess I will be the first one to try it out. I have just gone into panic mode. Using the PPSC DVD lectures and the Bristol Online Bank, things were looking really good, until today when I tried some other feedback questions from some of the students that did the bristol brush up. I scored about 60% compared to the constant 90%-95% of what I score online. The exam is next week, should I differ the exams till January an prepare some more ? Would love any advice from anyone that has used the Bristol online to prepare for the Met exams. Thanks a million.

I did not use the DVD but I used the Oxford Aviation Meterology interactive training CD.
Found the CD was excellent - explained things very well.
With the CD and the Bristol Online Database got through the Met Exam.
I would also add I found Met a real struggle - failed it at PPL but with the CD and the online database got though the ATPL exam first time.

Thanks for the reply. First time am hearing about this Oxford Aviation Meterology interactive training CD, but guess its too late for me to switch now, since the exams is only a couple of days away. If you dont mind me asking, how long ago did you do the Met exams, what your average score was on the online database, and what you got in the actual exams. Just trying to see if I can still pull this off. Thanks a lot.

I started the exams for Module 1 at BGS in November 2004.
Sat the exams in July 2005.
I am working full time so would have probably done it quicker if I was not working.
Most of my time was studying for Met - I found it a real struggle - the other six exams did not find no where near as demanding.
Can not remember what marks I got on the online database but towards the end I was just passing the exams.
For the real exams just passed got 78% - which after taking the exams I knew it would be close.
If you go to BGS the feed back is good - lots of questions.
I think the best way to tackle it is watch your DVD then do questions and repeat the process.

PPSC! Now there's a name I haven't heard for a long time!

The general info on that CD is most likely still valid however when it comes to figures and carefully worded answers, these CD's become a little too generic to be of much use after about a year or so and can actually do more damage to your chances of passing the JAR assault course than good.

Better to wait for the official one methinks.

Thanks guys, guess I will just continue to study till the very last minute. Finding it difficult to get anything into the head again. I will let you all know how it goes.
