The airlines and GNVQ

Hi guys!

This is my first post on PPRUNE so i'll just cut to the chase :D

Im 14 years old and currently taking my GCSE's. My one real ambition is to become a commercial airline pilot. I know that the majority of airlines mininmum requirements are 5 GCSE's- preferably english, maths and a science subject & 2 'A' levels- once again, preferably maths and physics.

At my school im doing GNVQ intermediate science not the usual double award. I was just wondering if the airlines would accept such a qualification in place of a GCSE. ::confused:

Thanks

Lewis

Well...to be absolutely honest.

Once you get your A-levels, not many people really care about GCSE/ GNVQs as long as you get your A-levels!!

I would definately advise buying the book 'A guide to getting a Commercial pilot licence' by Clive Hughes.

Any more help feel free to post!

Best of luck,

Jinkster
