JAA and FAA

I'm lost in the whole regulations area. As I get ready to start school and think about the future, I'm interested in possibly finding jobs all around the world. My question: Is their any bridges for pilots, like me in the future, who have FAA CPL/ATP and JAA or other governing bodies? To clarify some - if I have an FAA CPL/ATP can I fly anywhere else in the world, or just in the US and places that accept FAA licenses?
Sorry if my questioning is a little confusing, it's because I AM confused.

Understand JAA is for EU. :ok:
Question is: Can I, as a fully rated CPL/ATP from the US and US schooling hope to get jobs somewhere else in the world other than the US? I know firms in Saudi Arabia accept FAA certs, but do I have an in elsewhere, or would I, in Europe for example, have to go through the full JAA schooling again to fly commercially. (which I could never afford!!)
Is their a cross over program between JAA and FAA (or FAA and Australia) for pilots? Now or Ever?
