Is the Jet Orientation Course worth doing nowadays?

I can't see it making much difference in the recruitment process apart from preparing you for a sim check.

And as it can't be put towards a type rating, whats its real use?

wont waste your money. if you want to spend money do an mcc which is done on a jet aircraft like MCT's tristar mcc, that gives you more than enough hands on practise for a sim ride.....
