Oxford has to be the only choice
Hi all,
Thought I might throw this to you all- after months of visits and research and a few hours here and there I have come to the unsurprising conclusion that if we are to blow all this dough then Oxford must be the only candidate? It would be interesting to hear your views on this and anyone at Oxford on the quality of lectures, training, etc received so far. Do all jobs come from Integrated at OATS or are there possibilities of training elsewhere and getting a job? Let's hear your views..... |
It's not.....
How can Oxford be the only choice?
Because you like it? What about all those other guys who've gone other places and made it quite OK? Don't mistake your lack of experience for knowledge. Nothing personal by the way, it just annoys me how some people go totally hallelujah when they choose a school. Just because it's one of the best known names doesn't make it good for everybody. Or give you any sort of job garantee.... You will be the best judge when you've finished your training, not before when it's mostly an emotional decision. Good luck anyway....:D |
I'm not sure that this post even justifies a reply. But since I've got nothing better to do until a colleague arrives at the office:
What a load of crap! Reido, you've obviously done your research, using your own criteria, and decided that Oxford is the best school for you. Well, that's good. I can't fault you on the groundwork that you've done, and I'm sure that, having put the time and effort into making your decision, you will do very well at Oxford. But did it ever occur to you that other people might have different criteria to you? Maybe they can't afford Oxford's prices? Maybe they prefer a more informal training environment? Maybe they had a personality clash with an instructor there, or perhaps they are particularly suited to the instructional style of an instructor who works somewhere else? Maybe they need to train near home due to work or family commitments, and home happens to not be near Oxford? Everyone is different. Because of that, everyone has different needs. And because of that, there are a large number of schools out there to satisfy all of those different needs. Oxford has a very good reputation, but despite that, I chose not to train there, and I don't regret that choice at all. FFF ---------------- |
Do all jobs come from Integrated at OATS Furthermore, even if you knew this, it would not help as that does not mean that you have increased your personal chance of success. All the top schools have a good reputation. I suspect your chance of success will be 98% persperation and 2% location. Good luck! |
