Europe

Hiya, Can anyone help clarify JAA for me please?
The way I understand things, a JAA licence is valid right through Europe. This means that if I hold a JAA ATPL I can secure employment in any EU country? Of course there will be language barriers etc, but assuming I am fluent in the coutries language and meet the airlines requirements, in theory with a JAA licence I will be eligible to fly in that country? How does this work out in practice? Is Europe really a single job market?
Thanks

Check out these pages. Looks like it's not only EU states which should recognise the licence.
