any idea if kitfox hours count for hour building

I'm thinking of buying a kitfox or something similar to hour build for CPL. (and then selling it after I have the hours!)

Do these hours count towards the required hours? It would seem to be the most cost effective way to hour build.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Depends entirely on the type of Kitfox, its weight and how it is registered.

Needs to be Group A, permit to fly with the PFA. You'll find that in real life such aircraft sell for less than the true cost of building and equipping them. Lot's available so chose very carefully. They also come in at a price similar to classic aircraft with slightly higher fuel flows but much less 'highly strung' engines.

Value for money suggests a group share - far less capital involved but with the benefits of very low running costs. For those who can fly mid week a share in an aircraft makes superb sense.

BTW Aircraft with a reg. beginning G-M*** are not what you want.

PS - None of this is theory. Been running shared group aircraft since 1977 and I still do. Presently flying a Jodel D120 when I'm not flouncing around the sky in a Boeing. Remember - us old farts had to get a minimum of 700 hours:uhoh: :uhoh: :uhoh:
