US licence conversions

Hello, I am trying to get my US ppl off the back of my NZ/Oz licence. I am currently in the UK. Does anyone know if i can get my temp airmans cert and licence issued here in the UK without a trip to the US? I have got my security and licence confirmation through so just need the actual licence now.

No. You need to go in person to an FAA FSDO (flight standards district office) and they are all in the US. To get the security authorisation done, you should already have nominated your chosen FSDO (if you filled out the same forms as I did).

knobbygb is right ! What did you enter on line 10 of your Verification of Authenticity ?

You can get in touch with the FAA at the US Embassy in London on 0207 499 9000, ext. 2494 or 2497. The FAA field-office? at West Rislip is just a bunch of mechanics I think, they're on 0208 754 8819. Your best bet is to call the New York office, on 001 718 553 0986.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for all your seggestions. In the box for which office i would like getting the letter sent to i wrote the UK. i have my letter back from the confirming my licence etc but no mention of where the rest went to!! I have gathered from your comments it must be over there somewhere and i think the letter was sent from New York... guess it must be there somewhere! NY cant be that bigger place to find!?!

Cheers
