Where to begin training for a complete beginner?
 

Anyone got any input on where I should start if my ultimate goal in life were to fly airliners? I'm about to graduate with a degree in Endless, sorry, English Literature, and am uncomfortably aware that the job market with those with a predilection for feeling fuzzy about books is pretty limited.

I'm not totally innumerate but would need to get a maths A-level (and science?). I'm almost endlessly enthusiastic about aviation, which I presume is a plus.

The question is, maths/science A-level in hand, where next? Anyone with any ideas, suggestions, experiences would be received most gratefully.
