Exactly. There are extremely good reasons why most regulators require Line Indoctrination/Operating Experience to be conducted in the airplane. In fact, I'm not specifically aware of any who do permit the credit of line training requirements to be completed in the simulator. You can conduct initial and recurrent training and maintain your 90-day takeoff and landing currency in a Level D sim, I would seriously trust the veracity of being able to conduct any line training (outside of a structured LOFT). I know some airlines do conduct line training in the simulator as a "post ride, pre-line" type event (I've built a few scenarios for a previous airline), but to my knowledge you cannot credit those hours to the completion of your LI/OE or count it as experience on type.
