The likely effect of switching on anti-collision light in IMC would be?A. Reduced binocular vision B. Dizziness and disorientation
C. Improved vision

Depends on what type of anti-collision light!

Fl1ingfrog 20th Dec 2023 16:45

Whatever the anti-collision light type, if your aware of it in your peripheral vision and it is lighting up the cloud around you then turn it off, preferably before entering the cloud when its effect is known.

Strobes must always be turned off in cloud.

(B). because flashing lights can be disorienting, if reflected back off the inside of a cloud into the cockpit.

Moved at my request to a student pilots, rather than instructors page.
