Vueling cadet program with Baltic Aviation Academy

Hello everyone,

Recently BAA training launched a Vueling Cadet program https://baatraining.com/abinitio/cad...cadet-program/
As a current student I take it up on myself to warn everyone about this scam and this school. Even though there is a very detailed forum on pprune explaining how BAA exploits students, however many aspiring pilots still fall into their hands due to them releasing such 'cadet' programs with high caliber airlines like Vueling, LOT and Wizz air aside from their own scam airlines which are owned by the same umbrella company. For any aspiring pilots my advice is to talk to a BAA student who is deep into their IFR training and NOT marketed by the school on instagram,
Here is a quick rundown on BAA :
https://baaflightschool.com/about-th...academy/fleet/ here is what they advertise about their fleet.
Truth: they have 2 cessnas, 2 ish tecnam single engines (most of the time they are broken) and not a single multi engine aircraft of their own.
They don't have their own maintenance facilities at their base airport, Lleida, they do their maintenance at other airports, and if you were to find an issue during a walkaround at your home airport, even a small one, the aircraft will be grounded and maintenance staff will have to drive from the other airports to come have a look. This entire process takes 2+ weeks. Not uncommon for both the single engine tecnams to be grounded at once and take ages for them to fix it.
There is trouble with the maintenance as well, as they pay for very cheap maintenance, it's not uncommon that the mechanic will drive all the way to Lleida without tools, making the maintenance process very inefficient, not to mention that the aircraft will most likely again have a new problem after 2 or 3 days of flying=> repeat the cycle . All of this you can read in the BAA pprune forum
Lack of instructors- most of the instructors have left, there's around 5 left at best including the CFI

Cadet programs:
Wizz air ended collaboration with BAA, the last Wizz cadets who started with the school had their cadetships revoked by Wizz air at the beginning of their training.
Turkish airlines have suspended their collaboration with BAA
LOT Cadet program, which at the time of launch had a very similar advertisement as the current vueling program," job guarantee letter of undertaking blah blah"=> not a single LOT cadet from BAA was interviewed by LOT after graduation and nor were they taken on. The cadets received an email of the cancellation of this 'program'.
LOT took cadets from their own LOT flight academy. This is because there was no agreement between LOT and BAA, there was no job nor an interview guarantee.

It was all a scam to lure more students, as their reputation is crumbling, as is this current Vueling cadet program. There is no agreement between BAA and Vueling, maybe you might able to land an interview with vueling at the end of your training, but again as mentioned before, it's not a guarantee. Any problems you will face in training ie. lack of planes, instructors, poor maintenance as a vueling 'cadet' you will have to handle this yourself and vueling will not give a care, as at the end of the day you will just be an integrated student with a slight chance of landing an interview with Vueling at the end of your training. That's all it is..

I am so surprised that given BAA history and reputation, any airline would even consider associating their name with such a company.

Great points! I did not know that this was a fate of LOT cadets!! I applied for them once and so grateful that I did not get in!! I chose a better FTO and so much happier than my friends in BAA, now on a waiting list for Wizzair.
BTW CAE do A320 type rating with vueling SOPs and that's one of the preferred organisations for vueling, this programs sounds more like an opportunity to sell the course and a type rating for BAA than a cadet program. Disgusting school . Keep out

How did Vueling partner with these scammers? Keep seeing Instagram & Facebook ads from these clowns

the thing is that they didn’t. this is just a one sided scam run by BAA to sell the course and a type rating. Something similar to their ’ LOT program.’

I didn't get in in 2019, grateful for the divine intervention there...Did my pilot studies in my home country, along with a university course, now finishing up CPL/IR/ME. And it's 10k cheaper not including accomodation!
