FAA CPL MEL convert to TC

Hi guys,

I need your help, I would like to convert my FAA CPL Multi engine land + IR license to TC (Canadian License), but I don't have a single engine land CPL. Only PPL Single engine

Is there going to be a problem with my conversion? Because I read somewhere that TC doesn't differentiated CPL Multi engine or single engine, its just CPL TC.

I hope you guys could help me out on this one

You may have seen this document before but just in case you haven't, here it is. Maybe the answer is in there somewhere. I'm too lazy to look for it:

It's the other way round : you need this one…

My understanding, and I'm probably wrong, is that the Multi is an add-on. If you can fly the multi, the single privileges are automatic.

I believe that, for a Commercial MEL/Private SEL, you will get TC Commercial for both.

It's only the ATP that causes a problem. TC will only issue ATP for Multi. If you have an ATP SEL only, you would get a Commercial in the exchange.

Let us know how it works out. I've been waiting 2 years to get the conversion exam booked!

Good luck.

TC, like EASA, considers MEP/SEP to be ratings not levels of licence. You can add MEP to either a PPL or a CPL - it's the same test. So you can get your MEP after PPL then do your CPL test in an SEP. In which case you would get MEP commercial privileges as well.
The FAA make things more complicated by having commercial maneuvers.
