If you have an ATPL license, what are the limitations that would cause you to lose your ATPL exam credits?

If you IR is expired by more than 7 years, if you want to renew your IR you need to take a new theoretical IR or theoretical ATPL exam.

None. You have no theory credits - you have the real thing! An ATPL is valid for life.

I suppose you could surrender your licence... I can't think of any other reason why you'd need to take the exams again!

That's not even the case anymore with the CBIR, there is an oral exam option 👍

I passed my ATPL theorique easa for a conversion from ATPL icao. Mars 2013.
and I need pass again the ATPL theorique because DGAC told me than my ATPL is expire....

Did you get an EASA ATPL? Once you have one they are valid for life. Only the ratings can expire.

I passed a EASA theory exam in 2013 to be able to convert my iCAO licence.
I want to pass my simulator test ATPL and the DGAC told me than my ATPL theory is not valid anymore.
I must to pass again my exam.

So you never had an EASA ATPL so far, just the theoretical part.

So you took the exams in 2013 but didn't bother getting an EASA licence? Instead you waited 7 years? I think you're out of luck mate, sorry.

I thought you only had 3 years to stick a cpl licence on before they expire.

Correct. Kind of. For the purposes of getting a CPL & IR they expire after 36 months. For the purposes of getting an ATPL they expire on a rolling 7 years, and for the purpose of doing an FI course or first MP type rating there is no expiry.

But the original question was actually nonsensical which is probably why we haven’t heard from the OP!

rudestuff - the GA section of the UK CAA are actually disallowing some exams in certain cases with no logical reason given.
