LPC minimum maneuvers
Hello everybody, I would like to ask if someone knows where I can find the EASA LPC minimum maneuvers, because during checks a lot of examiner give me different answers.
Thank you. |
Firstly what type or class are you being tested on?
Also, there is no such thing as 'minimum' as far as the candidate is concerned. The examiner can technically see whatever manoeuvres he pleases from the LPC schedule, but there are certain things that MUST be covered. |
Hello Permanent Standby, is for A 320 and I would like to know the MUST to be covered.
Thank you |
Hi Geolift. Assuming the LPC is conducted by a UK TRE on a UK EASA licence holder it’s done following CAA DOC 24 guidance, that contains a detailed testing schedule, items marked M are mandatory. However this assumes a ‘basic’ LPC. If you work for an operator they may impose other requirements for their OPC (normally combined with an LPC), and if they are part of an ATQP or EBT training system then there may be further and different requirements. So sadly not a straight forward answer!
If you have a more specific question, feel free to post it and I’ll try to answer. (UK TRE) |
Not obvious which nationality you’re interested in but the joy of EASA is that it works across borders.
Download SRG1158 from the CAA website. Anything with an M in the third column from the right is mandatory. Not obvious but also M are minimum of three items from 3.4 and 3.6. There are many helpful notes at the end of this form, not always the case on other countries’. The content of this form is the same for other EASA countries, even if the layout differs slightly. If you want other EU versions go to their national authority website or download Examiner Differences Document (EDD), current version 01/2020, which has links to national forms. Some countries eg Spain have two forms mirroring the uk 2199 and 1158, some eg Germany have them combined. Uk TRE working for an airline with 20 nationalities so the EDD is my best friend! |
Hi Permanent Standby and deltahotel, thank you for the explanations!

The mandatory items for an LPC are -
Pre flight checks Use of checklists Sid or Star Minimum of 3 Abnormals Minimum of 3 Emergencies RTO NPA using V/S (2D approach) GNSS approach (3D approach) EFATO SE ILS without auto pilot SE Go around SE landing If you are completing LVO’s too then you will need to complete an RTO in minimum RVR’s, and 2 LVO approaches with 1 landing required from either of those approaches. hope I haven’t forgotten anything, it’s been a whil after the recent lockdown. |
OEI G/A also needs to be manually flown - no AP - until clean (FD use permitted), correct?
As well, there used to be a requirement for PIC to go through a fire/smoke event and evacuation (not necessarily connected, but both mandatory) |
