L3

I would like to point out what happened to my son thanks to a company listed on the NYSE, L3 Technologies, specifically Commercial Training Solution Division, which has numerous flying academies.

One of them is located at Ponte de Sor in Portugal, to which my son attended since September 2017.

In September 2018, L3 suspended training, resuming it for just one day in November and then said nothing more until April.

This is really inconsistent with what you see written on the web home page, namely "At L3, success is defined by our ability to meet our customers' needs. That's why every part of our business is focused on quick and agile response "

On april my son wrote that he would quit the school but the school didn't even try to hold him, committing in a quick conclusion of the course.

L3 simply refunded an unreasonable and insignificant amount, to be taken or left, insufficient to cover the costs of completing the Airline Transport Pilot License elsewhere.

It is truly humiliating for a student who loooks forward to become a pilot remaining months without any response, apart from the unofficial information on the instructors resignation because attracted by the Airline companies.

Having failed to get almost anything from L3, I wanted at least to report the incident to protect future cadets.

Deepest sympathies.. This is not uncommon there.

Seek legal advice, have L3 been in breach of contract?

L3 have started using other schools such as Leading Edge Aviation in Oxford to train THEIR cadets at some stages. The whitetail students are basically at the bottom of the list and have experienced massive delays. L3 is not fit for purpose, or at least needs to scale down the amount of students they enrol on each course. Although why would they do that when they have an abundance of misinformed students willing to part with £100k+. Talk about milking the cow for all it's worth.

Is there genuinely one school in this industry that's not only milking students and cares a minimum? I am really curious.

Bartolini Air in Poland where I did my training are great, The owners who are instructors themselves will listen to you if you have any problems and do their best to sort it out.

thanks for your sharing! L3 didn't fulfil the agreement, international litigation is a hard way

I am a student at Ponte de Sor location and I agree with everything you wrote. We have been waiting for months to start our flight training after our ground school. Even if you start flying, you are very lucky if you can fly 2-3 sessions per week. There are some students at different phases who are sent home for 3-4 months to wait
