NZ PPL Theory Exams

Quick question - do PPL exam marks (not just pass/fail) get recorded anywhere permanently? And if you repeat the same exam (to score a better grade) is this noted anywhere?
Thanks in advance.

All NZCAA exam bookings (and assessments) are conducted via ASL Tasman (aka "aspeq")... the website is here: http://caanz.aspeqexams.com

You need to create an account to be able to book exams and an entire transcript of all your exam results is available on there (entire history, it even shows my PPL results from "paper exams" conducted in 1999 and 2003 before the computer based system existed!. ). You can download the result notification in PDF format etc.

I've never failed nor repeated an exam as yet (although there are 3 ATPLs that I'll be resitting soon as they have expired :ugh::ouch::mad:), so I can't comment as to whether it shows all results, or only the most recent for any given exam, but I suspect that it will show all exams sat and their results.

Why on earth would you want to waste time and money to repeat an exam you already passed??!? No-one really cares about individual marks on any given exam, just whether or not you've actually passed... (and completed the KDRs :})

Thanks for the reply RHSandLovingIt. I’m across the Aspeq info. Sat my first PPL subject last week and managed a pretty marginal pass. That said, I work full time so my study comprised a quick flick through a “Waypoints” guide. I’m aiming for an internal cadet programme so not sure whether they will look at individual marks. As you say, a pass is a pass and I’m not really interested in wasting time/money to re-sit however I also want to give myself the best chance for a move. Good to know they definitely keep a transcript of every exam and result. Again, thanks for the reply and good luck with your upcoming ATPLs
