EASA ATPL to FAA ATP

Hi there,

I have attained and EASA ATPL and am looking at ways to use those credits to obtain a FAA ATP as well.

Is is there an ATO in Europe that has a package guided to this specific purpose?

Any thoughts or ideas on the best (and more economic) way for an European (living in Euro-land) to “use” the EASA ATPL to obtain the FAA ATP?

It's straight forward. You'll have to pass a TSA background check, have your CAA verify your license to the FAA, complete a 40 hour ATP CTP class if you are looking to get a multi engine ATP, pass the written test and pass a checkride. If you want to get a type rating at the same time you will have to complete a classroom and simulator training program before the checkride.

There are no providers of the CTP class outside the US and no locations to take the written test in Europe.

Regarding TR, I have both an A320 and a BD700 endorsement on my EASA ATPL. Would both TR transfer to the FAA ATP or would I need to perform a checkride on both TR to have the endorsement on the FAA ATP?

The FAA website lists all the approved ATP CTP providers. There are 21, none located outside of the US.

Unless you hold a Canadian license the type ratings don't transfer over. You must complete a program of classroom and flight training and pass the checkride. Many TCs have short courses for pilots with time in type.
