quick help with a nav problem

Hello!

Hope someone could give me a quick hand. I'm currently studying Nav and am doing some practise tests and I've come up against this question a couple of times;

Given Hdg of 138T, a track of 141T, a TAS of 122kts and a G/S of 101kt, what is the W/V?

Now, the test tells me that the correct answer is 13121kt

But I've tried to work this a load of times and always get closer to 12221kt... I'm doubting my ability to work this out, so is there an online wizwheel where I can get super accurate answers for this? Is there a chance the test has the wrong answer against it?

Maybe someone could work this out and confirm the correct answer?

Thanks for the help,
Jon

Try the app: Aviation Pocketknife. There you get a NAV calculator. According to the app the answer is 12422kt. You'll always find some wrong questions and answers in the bank

Jon87 on the information given I too get 124/22 on my trusty CRP-5. So it looks like you are doing things correctly.

I too was an ATPL instructor.

If you are studying for a CPL or ATPL then may I politely suggest that you ask the relevant instructor in your school.

After all, you are paying for services.

Many thanks all! Good to know I'm not just crazy bad at the crp-5.

I'll check out that app too, sounds useful.

Thanks again,
Jon
