NVFR, ATPL, and HB in Hungary
 

Hello aviators,

I'm residing in Dubai and have an EASA PPL from 2fly aerodynamics since last year by studying online then going to spain for a full month to squeeze flight training and exams into this tight schedule.
I'm planning to do the same as I progress towards ATPL, thus I'm planning to do my night rating in Hungary during my one week holiday in August 2018 then possibly ATPL theory and few Hour Building the following month . I narrowed my options to 2 flight schools in Hungary based on price primarily then availability . here is my question:

- does anybody know anything about airwin/aviator-school.com or flyteam.hu ? their NR is less than 1000 Euros and their aircraft are nice and new (T2002 and DA20 respectively)
- Hour Building: if you have the option between Hungary or US (Florida or others) to build flight time for the same price (~90 euros/hr) where would you go ? and what is your reason ?

It's weird because I have just found the same. Zeged looks like a very nice multicultural town because of the universities. I am checking this school too.

I've just got a reply from flyteam.hu. I wanted to do some hour building witu them but the reply said that they only provide hour building for their students and they don't have enough space for other students.

I'm here in Budapest, been to Szeged and esztegrom
Fly team told me that they don't offer hour building,, but their nvfr and atpl theory is good value (€880 & 1500)°

​​​​I ended up in pannon air (tokol airport near Budapest) flying Da20 at €109 per hour. But I needed 5hrs with instructor for type rating before going solo.

I learnt that it's not straight forward process in Hungary as US or France

it might be the school. I know one school located in LHKA which allows you from the very first moment log time as a pic( with a safety pilot of course). And after some time even rent it out all by yourself. Really cheap rates and meteorology all year round

I am gonna try Bartolini. I think its 112 €/hr in the Tecnam.

I went to pannonair like 5 days ago and i was told that they are fully occupied and I ended up at lhka (skytaxi) flew there a bit but safety pilot is mandatory and planes are ohh God only thing that work with them is their engines but they have availability all the time.

how about the school in esztegrom , airwin i believe?

yes its true, but 92 euros per hour, and possibility to log Pic from the beginning ( with the safety pilot of course) but normally in every other school you have to get a few hours of instruction . Also if the safety pilot finds you are more than capable you can go solo

Is there any current students in FLYTEAM or AIRWIN. I am planing to have ATPL distance learning in Hungary. So I am trying to find fresh information about schools in Hungary. So is there anyone can help?

I came across the same school FLYTEAM in hungary and I'd be interested as well to start the next ATPL distance learning course on 4th february.
I found no other information apart from the contract draft they sent me to sign off.

Did you go there, by chance? I received some details from them, but no mention of any simulators there and the price of training is suspiciously low. If you could share any further experience you may have had with them, I would be appreciative!

Hey, yeah I disregarded flyteam and went for pannnonair near Budapest for few reasons:
1- flyteam seemed suspiciously low priced compared to others and their atpl system didn't work for me
2- I found pannon air which are the authorized service center for Diamond aircraft (fly team's aircrafts gets serviced by pannon air) so you could imagine the aircraft maintenance and availability is top notch!
3- pannon air offer good hour building packages and it's near Budapest which works great for me (I fly from Dubai, take a transport to pannon air, hour build for few days and fly back from Budapest) unlike flyteam where I had to hire a car and drive long highway to get to nearly small city.

Thank you for the tip on Pannonair, I see they include a copy of their ATO certificate on their website, that is helpful. I am hitting barriers trying to learn which schools in Hungary are current EASA ATOs, and in collecting other details.

May I ask, where did you earn your other ratings up to this time? I am starting at 0 PPL.

What is your plan now with time building? I assume you are moving toward airlines; will you try to hire with an airline as a low time 2nd officer/cadet, or do you have another path in mind?

Yeap. There are lots of differences between Europe and United States in terms of pilot training and getting a job.

He/She is probably doing his/her PIC (Time Building) flights in there.

After received PPL, approx. 90 hours time building on single engine aircraft is necessary in order to take CPL.

As a matter of fact many airlines based in Europe do not care hours doing on single engine aircraft. So many graduates apply to low cost airlines like Ryanair, Wizzair etc.

Apart from United States, ATPL (1500 hours) is not necessary for finding a job in Europe. CPL (200 hours) is okay for low cost firms.

I know that many new graduates work as FI for building hours in order to find a job in airlines. But students in Europe do not choose this method. They found that working as instructor is tough. Because they like jumping to right seat on B737/A320 after graduation. :)
