ATPL Theory with Bartolini Air in Poland - Looking to contact students

I have two questions:

- will you have gone through the whole material before you get there?
- is there any reason why want to sit exams in UK ( is there any advantage other than personal preference).

I will only start studying the material in July so I don't think I can cover all the material in detail before the classroom session but I plan to understand the basics of all the subjects.
The reason I want to sit the exams in the UK is that it is more convenient considering you have to travel to Poland for a few times to complete all 14 exams.
The cost of exams in the UK is way more but I am saving travel time and costs.

Not too sure about the difficulty of the exams in the UK compared to Poland.

thanks all for popping up with replies. It looks like we are going to meet up in September.

I was interested what strategy you are taking up:
- how do you plan to group the subjects
- do study all subjects up front or Group 1 study and take exams and then move on to another group?
- or may be you find BGS app structured in a correct way and we should all just follow their layout?

I am currently doing my ATPL theory with Bartolini (I'm in Spain).

- I am still unsure what order I'll be sitting the subjects but I would like to get it done in 3 sittings (in Warsaw). Planning on going to the brush up in November (probably the earliest I can do considering I'm doing 2-3 hours a day with a full time job) and first sitting in January.
- I'm planning on studying all 14 at once (I don't think Bartolini let you come to the 2 week brush up unless you've completed around 75% of the CBT anyway).
- I find the BGS app great. The fact we can use the BGS app and sit the exams in Poland just gets you the best of both worlds.

I’m from Spain and I’m enrolled in a distance learning ATPL at Bartolini, too.

I still have a lot of work ahead with the CBT. Actually, I’m really willing to split the subjects in 3 groups as soon as possible, as it’s very messy to cover the 14 at the same time.

A good strategy could be going quickly through easy subjects such as human perf. and preparing the hardest ones before going to the brush up session, and then dividing the Atpl in 3 modules (Bristol Ground School native order is great!). However, as far as I am aware, we are required to sit an internal exam to get the certificate of completion...

I would be interested in taking the exams in Madrid instead of Warsaw, but I don’t think I will be allowed by the spanish CAA... (AESA or Senasa).

Glad to see different opinions on how to face the course, since the worst aspect of studying this abroad is not knowing your “classmates”!

I'll be starting my distance learning ATPL with Bartolini hopefully in September but maybe October depending when I can get a PPL skill test and my licence back etc.

I've already been looking over some subjects thanks to friends who have completed ground school and gone onto airline jobs, I plan on taking the exams all in Poland, it's cheaper and in terms of travel costs a flight to Warsaw is around the same as fuel costs down south anyway.

It may change however I plan on going over all 14 subjects in the 5/6 months following an integrated timeline almost depending on work but leaving the hardest until face to face in Poland. Roughly I plan on grouping mine as follows:

Human Performance & Limitations
Air Law
Operational Procedures
VFR / IFR Comms
Meteorology
(I plan (as it stands) to take these in the first sitting)

2)
Principles of Flight
Performance
Flight Planning
General Navigation
Mass & Balance
- Depending how I find these topics I may in fact get these exams out of the way first as I seem to find the first block quite straightforward

3)
Aircraft Gen
Instrumentation
Radio Nav

My ATPL classroom session in Bartolini was in 2016 and the internal exam was not difficult at all. Even there were some guys who just had started CBT (so with minimum knowledge) and I guess it went OK for them. But of course, if you can study most of the subjects now - do it, you well be more comfortable anyway, in Lodz and in CAA.
Maybe Spanish CAA requires something special, otherwise, Bartolini can issue your certificate of completion in English and it would be fine for many EASA countries

Hi! Im currently studying ATPL under the Bartolini school. The content i OK.
First of all im just reading through all of the subject to prepare myself for classroom. Then i can choose my first 4 subjects for exam and learn them. Should be ok, although there is a lot of slides! :)
Does anyone know if Bartolini publish an overview of when the classrom sitting are? My 5 month is over in January, and want to do this ASAP :)

You can come in Lodz with any level of knowledge (even without reading Bristol GS) but you need to complete everything before Bartolini can issue your certificate (CCC) required for exams. And you do not need to wait 5.5 months for classroom, you need it just for the certificate.
In other words, book your classroom at any moment. For the certificate you need
- to complete 100% of BGS
- to spend 2 weeks in Lodz
- then pass internal exam(s)
- to wait 5.5 mounts from your subscription date in Bartolini

Hi Guys, I'm thinking of Bartolini as well and I see this Thread is active:

I'm looking for people who have experience with either Bartolini (Poland) or Orbit (Netherlands) ground schools.
I am trying to figure out between two of them, as they are both using Bristol system that I want to have.

The main impression right now is that in Bartolini (Poland) it is WAY more cheaper, the course and the exams fees.
But in Orbit (Netherlands) I get the impression they "care" more, they show more professional & care attitudes meanwhile communication with both of the schools.
I also understood that in Orbit I can split the classroom time and not just come for 2 weeks to cover all subjects heavily, while Bartolini giving constraints of waiting 5 months and then come to the classroom to cover ALL subjects no matter your personal progress.

I am looking for people with personal experience that can speak from their own experience with either of those ground schools!
