ATPL Theory Study Guide

Hello all!

My first post to PPRuNe! - I'm soon to start my ATPL Theory studies on an integrated course. Now, we all know that it takes more than just sitting in class and taking notes, and that the 6 months of Ground School requires a lot of self-discipline and self-studying.

My question is, what have been your best methods of studying and revising for your ATPL exams? Maybe not just ATPL, but how have you studied and revised in the past, e.g. for GCSE's/A Levels?

I have a MacBook Pro, and I want to be able to utilise this, and many other methods, to try and increase my chances of getting as high a percentile in each exam.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

To be honest there is no magic formula or substitute for hard work. Put in as many hours as you can, then a couple more on top when people are out in the pub, or other social occasions.

What worked for me was reading over the books after every day, doing the questions in the book. I didn't do much question bank until at the end of 3-4 'mini topics'. Rinse and repeat. Passed mid/end of 2016. Good luck.

I suspect you also an iPad so I would say you could also buy Cat3C ibooks. He is a Bristol GS instructor (or former one?) and you can look at some of his explanations on YouTube, just type "Cat3C".

Thank you all, really appreciate your advice. Will certainly explore Cat3C and CaptOnline.com. Cheers Guys
