Licence conversion not required

Good afternoon, Iīm a Modular commercial student pilot. I recently finished my theoretical ATPL exams at Oxford and would like to continue training in the UK. In 2011 I got a PPL licence in Spain and my first Class 1 medical exam was also done in Spain.

Even though I have been renewing my Class 1 in the UK , I thought my Initial Class 1 records had to be transferred to the UK in order to obtain a frozen ATPL licence, but the CAA have told me that I can keep my State of Licence Issue (Spain) and finish my commercial training in the UK.

Now, I understand I need to do a Radiotelephony exam in order to use my EASA PPL to fly in the UK (already did all theoretical ATPL exams in the UK), how do I take this RT test? The CAA guy didnīt clarify this part though.

This paperwork thing is even better than the 14 exams :8

Kind regards,

You should be able to do it at almost any flying club that has an authorised examiner.

The information from the UK CAA is correct. Training for an EASA licence, rating or certificate may be completed in any EU member state but the resultant licence(s) and rating(s) will be issued by the Spanish competent authority as they hold your medical records. As to the RTFOL, you will have to consult AENA to determine what is acceptable to them. The UK RT test may not be acceptable for a Spanish issued EASA CPL.
