UK Hours I got free?
Two years ago I got a scholarship through the air cadets that gave me 12 hours of flying including a 20 minute solo. Two years later I am now looking to do a PPL. I have found a flight school that use the same aircraft that is used by the scheme and I am currently waiting a response from them. I have a few questions about the situation I'm in.
1) Can I count the 12 hours that I did 2 years ago towards the overall hours required 2) Is a LAPL suitable as I have no intention of going out the country since I don't have a passport anyway and I want to keep it relatively cheap as I'm young. Thank you in advance for answering these admittedly somewhat confused questions. EDIT: Sorry this may be the wrong place. IF it is MODs please do feel free to move it. |
Hi,
1. Yes, the hours count. Hours never expire. Don't worry about it :) 2. I'm no instructor, and not 100% sure, but I think an LAPL is fine. I believe you're limited to MTOW of 2000kg instead of 5700kg. Doubt you'll find many hobby pilots flying those around! |
