IATA Diplomas for student pilots
 

Hi !

I'm a young pilot getting the licenses via the modular way, and I'm wondering to get diploma related with aviation and at same time get a deep knowledge in some subjects such aviation management. I found the IATA training section... they look good, it's will be good to have some reviews and/or alternatives.

Just note that these diplomas do not help you get a job any faster, or lead to better jobs. If airlines require uni degrees, and they rarely do, they prefer STEM majors.

Also note that most people get a degree to have a backup plan in case the flying does not work out. And yes, there are more people than you'd like to know that have to fall on these backup plans, even if only temporarily. These aviation management degrees do not help you get any employment outside of aviation, and are generally considered to be pretty useless.

It is a GREAT idea to get a degree on the side, I highly recommend it - but pay attention to your major and how it will/would impact your career!

Well, in a first instance, as an aviation passionate I'd like to go deeper than the standard theoretical lessons. Im conscious that this diplomas will not help me to get a job. In the other hand, I have already the idea to get a degree, but I still searching something related with the aviation, and obviously I know that the "Aviation Management diplomas" are useless...

First of all, IATA is a trade association not a regulatory body so anything they issue in the way of a diploma is nothing to do with being a pilot.

You need to look at ICAO who are the global regulatory authority (a specialised agency of the UN). Beneath ICAO there are other bodies such as EASA and then the National Aviation Authorities (NAA's) who issue licenses.
