Bucks New Uni Bsc Air Transport with Commercial Pilot Training

Hi Pprune staff and community,

I recently received an offer for this course however wondering which FTO the course is primarily done with - any one know?

I know CAE OAA work in collaboration with Bucks New Uni and I have applied for their First Officer programme as well, and would ideally like to start both the APP FO programme and degree course in September.

Also the entry requirements are surprisingly low, and so could someone explain why the grade entry requirements for pilot courses are so low yet the industry is so competitive and the salary and conditions are some of the best in the UK.

What are the UK's highest paid jobs of 2015? | Money | The Guardian

Thanks in advance and any help would be much appreciated.

It's Booker Aviation at Wycombe Air Park.

I am not a customer, but local and drop in there occasionally. It's a small airport and medium sized FTO, but they always come across to me as pretty professional.

The top of professional flying pays well in the UK, but the bottom doesn’t, and many fail to get near the top of the ladder - or even to stay on the ladder.

The BNU course is slowly developing a good reputation in the industry - if you are good enough, they will be. That said, don't expect the BSc to carry much weight in the academic world - it certainly a real degree, but the university is not highly ranked academically.

It is done with Booker Aviation.

I used to fly out of Wycombe Air Park. It is a nice field. In my opinion it is one of the best local clubs to fly out of because of the features it has. (grass+hard runways, PAPIs, full atc)

When we were involved with Bucks Uni, the PPL stuff was done at Booker, and the commercial stuff was done at CTC, having got their fingers (and several other parts) burnt at Cabair. Not sure what the current situation is, but they did reimburse any student who was involved, so several points in their favour.

Phil.
