CPL(A) Validity

The IR(A) is valid for 12 months, how long is your CPL(A) valid for? I can't seem to find out even reading the CAA CAP 804.

...even reading the CAA CAP 804.
Don't feel bad. You are not the first to be confused.

All EASA Licences are valid for the life of the holder. Only the validity of the Ratings included in the Licence (with the exception of the Night Rating) have to be Revalidated/Renewed, and the expiry date is stated on the Licence.

The CPL has a lifetime validity as long as you have an in date Class 1 medical, if you lose the medical or allow it to lapse then the licence is no good until the medical is renewed.

An EASA CPL(A) has a lifetime validity. In order to exercise the privielges of your licence, you will need a valid licence, class/type rating, and medical. Any other associated rating/certificate you would wish to exercise the privilege of must also be valid, such as the Instrument Rating or instructor certificate.
