Help with headset

Hey guys,

I'm starting my ATPL course in July and I'm looking for your opinion on some headsets. The school provides you with a DC H10-30, but I wanted to upgrade to a better headset, like the H10-13.4 or the H20-10. Preferably I'd like to go with the H20-10, since I like the design more and also it seems like it sits on top of your head and clamps it less than the H10-13.4, but I can't find much information about the H20-10 and I'd like to hear from someone who has tried it, or both of them.

Thanks

I used a H10-13.4 for years, couldn't fault it, comfortable and tough, I'd buy it if I were you

Nothing wrong with the ones you have. I'm still using my H10-40s after 30 years. Not much difference between them & -30s apart from the mic. You're better off using the money for your training.

Clamping pressure can be adjusted.

H20-10 has my vote

Hey AntTonix,

I am a firm fan of the H20-10. Bought mine just before my PPL cross country qualifier in 2010, still going strong after 700 hours, it has never missed a beat. Doggedly reliable.

The comfort was what led me to it in the first place and I now wear it 5-6 days a week for 5 hours a day and I'm still impressed by how comfortable it is. I also own an H10-13X and when the ENC is not turned on, the H20-10 beats it hands down for noise suppression as a passive set.

Cheers, :ok:
