CTC and ProPilot

I'm a bit confused by this, is this a takeover or a partnership?

CTC Aviation announces new Gatwick and Coventry crew training centres | Pilot Career News

EC DKN 25th Apr 2015 17:48

The centre at Coventry airport – previously managed by ProPilot – currently provides three purpose-built classrooms and a ground training instructor team currently headed by well-known industry figure.

Sad if it's true as A MODULAR PILOT...

CTC are on fire!

I was planing to go with them full time! Really stuck between BGS distance learning or Propilot full time!

KSA

I think their seven-month full-time KSA course if the best ATPL Theory course around.

The announcement is regarding a partnership between ProPilot and CTC and not a takeover.

Just means ATPL theory for CTC will be headed up by Jacqui and the ProPilot team.

I suspect that this has been driven by the recent legal battles between Bristol Ground School and the owner of Propilot. The compensation and legal costs paid by ProPilot must have been pretty big.

Well, there was a CTC course in Propilot last 6 months. Moreover, CTC has been using Padpilot books for quite long so the relationship is not new at all, just officially from now.

Bristol Ground School and Propilot are the best in the market! Remember that Bristol changed the course structure in favour of 3 stages like Propilot.

I am currently with ProPilot on the DL program and a quick glance at the 'official' email sent out for PP indicates that it is a partnership and the official name will now be called CTC Aviation Crew Training Centre.

This doesn't really impact the training per say as the team at PP will still head up the Theory side.

So are they still running, and will continue to do so, normal courses for modular Propilot students?

I believe so.. Taken from the official PR email:

" We are delighted to announce our new partnership with CTC Aviation, and our official transition into CTC Aviation Crew Training Centre – Coventry.

As a combined team under the CTC Aviation name, and led by our very own Jacqui Suren, we look forward to bringing the most innovative and latest generation theoretical knowledge instruction to all training at Coventry now and in the future. With our combined expertise, we will be ensuring that CTC Aviation is seen as the pace-setter in aviation theoretical knowledge training.

We would like to reassure all those currently studying with us of the continuing and uninterrupted support from the ProPilot team as well as the ongoing benefit from the investments being made in our technical knowledge instruction and our commitment to excellence.

This partnership will also enable us to extend our truly world-wide distance learning product to many more trainees around the globe."

Just to add - I would be straight on the phone if I felt I was being hard done by.. but CTC have long been part of PP - from a theory training perspective and from a commercial perspective it probably made sense to operate under the CTC brand whilst operating the legal entity of Pro Pilot for TKP.
