How many hours of PPL is too many for cadetships?

Cadetships such as BA FPP are aimed at those will "little to no flying experience", does anyone have any idea of the level of flying hours that seems to be the most optimum for sponsored cadetships?

I would assume that someone with no flying experience may struggle, but is there such thing as having too many private flying hours?

Varies. I have heard that BA had FPP cadets with PPL hours into the 100s. Flybe have previously applied a limit of 60 for entry into their cadet schemes. My advice for what it's worth - just fly as much or as little as you want.
