Flight schools in Germany
 

Hello, everyone!

I would like to get some information about the flight schools in Germany.
I am trying to find something similar to InterCockpit (e.g. German is not compulsory, posibilities to get an objective loan from the school (or any German bank), etc)

Can anyone provide me with a list of schools in Germany, where not only germans are welcome to apply?

Well known is TFC Kauffer, RWL, Intercockpit.

How about loan I dont know how that works in Germany for foreigners.

Otherwise you could take in consideration Baltic Aviation Academy in Vilnius Lithuania.

To get a loan in Germany, you should first be a German resident

(nationality doesn't matter).

Hi, I did my PPL there (MFA). Flight instructors were quite good (for PPL). The back-office in 2011 was a disaster. They lost my folder for about 3 weeks, meaning no documentation, no credit for flying/instruction time! They eventually found it, though. Twice a FI did not show which was a bummer seeing I needed to travel 45min to get to EDMA. The boss offered me a coffee for my time and trouble. I am doing my ATPL at IFR-Flugschule at EDFB. Top notch organization, super instructors. The big advantage at EDMA is that they have a IFR approach meaning (unlike at EDFB) you can fly approaches until you are dizzy. IFR-Flugschule you have to fly to another field (ie Mannheim, Hahn, etc.) to do approaches. Between the two, I would take IFR in Reichelsheim.

Have to agree w/maximus610 about pilotenboard.
They whine and complain about how bad everything is in the avaiation industry. I suspect that some of them do not want to have new pilots coming in since this would make it more difficult for them to find work.

The German civil aviation authority LBA has published a list of all approved German FTOs here.

Does anybody know anything about IFR-Flugschule?

Good to know. I was thinking of going to Poland, but I have my family in Schotten... It's just a small commute by car.


What fleet do they have? I know for sure they should have a DA42 G1000.


I am going to visit them in a month or so, when I'll move back to Germany.

they do have a Katana, DA42...

if the Poland is much cheaper, go for it, eventually you'll get the same

EASA license (even from LBA)...

I did my CPL/IR-ME in Iceland, going soon for FI rating here in Germany.
