CAA Strike Again re 30th June deadline!!!
CAA notify this morning that there are no more test slots available for those yet to complete their non-approved IR training prior to the end of June.
They do not appear to be willing to schedule any more examiners to deal with the demand. Head in sand again - policy is policy.... yeah yeah... Too bad for those already training, those who got a partial last week and need a re-test etc. Belgrano strikes again. Get on the phone now and let them know how this affects you before it's too late! |

Typical of the CAA's arrogance. Charging huge somes for a very poor service, exacerbated by staff shortages.
When it comes to the real crunch of stopping dodgy operators etc.. They just turn a blind eye T.F.D. rgds CRS |
Hmmm, well now, the FAA doesn't look so bad after all. And the price...is right.

I am in the same boat.
I have a test booked for tomorrow if it is cancelled due to weather or I get a partial pass, I can't get another test slot before the middle of July. Therefore if I don't achieve a full pass, I will have to do a fully approved course 55 hour course. I spoke to the CAA on Friday of last week and they said that I could get an inital IR test slot within two weeks, and today they are fully booked. Is anyone else in the same situation ???  |
What happened to planning ahead with your OWN training...
Everyone knew about the June deadline. Some people need spoon fed I reckon... |
what do you expect from civil servants.
SERVICE. |
Meeb, you know that 'spoon feeding' and 'pilot's' crop up in the same sentence far too often..... far, far, far, far, far too often

I think someone is on a windup.
My organisation today (Monday 27) booked two initial I.R. tests for mid June. Regards |
Depends on your locality. Apparently Leeds is booked out. CAA have offered an olive branch of sorts to those who may miss out on the June deadline. If candidates can't book a slot prior 30 June, they may get a small extension period by negotiation. You then get one shot at a full pass. No partial allowed. If you don't pass first time then its on with a full course, although the non-approved course hours should count towards the approved course. Problem is, if you have a test bounced due to weather, tech problems etc, you fall into this category even if your date was booked a while ago. Seems a little harsh.
