One of the questions that popped up was.

Calculate the balancing force:

A) 100N
B) 1N
C) 1000N
D) 10N

To mư knowledge, since the tubes are of equal m2 the balancing force should be equal to the other force?? Or have I completly missed something?

the image as shown is 20newtons pressing on an area the same as the other piston. so there is no amplification of force and the answer is 20 newtons.

some one has fckued up the question handsomely. :E:E:E

you'll win the protest!

Yep , no debate . The answer is 20 newtons

If the other one was meant to be 0.25 (look at the relative sizes in the drawing) it would have been 100N, I'm thinking.

@Paco yeah ive seen this question in the atplonline question database so i answered 100N. ;)

And thanks everyone for reassuring me im not stupid (yet). Now only GNAV RNAV and AGK Instruments left and im done!
