sponsorship
Hi,
has anyone got any ideas about where to gain sponsorship for training to commercial pilot status from zero experience. I have received an application form from BA but would like to try some others as well. Thanks |
Do a PPRuNe search for:
Air 2000 British Midland Aer Lingus British European GOOD LUCK! |
See above. And read the Appointments section in Flight International.

I take it from your post that you are new to all this. You may want to bear in mind that only BA is a full scholarship. Although other scholarships have been mentioned they will expect you to pay out as well. To pursue them you will need deep pockets or arrange a loan. - Do a search for HSBC for details of their Professional Development Loans. All the best |
Rote 8,
I have heard that Aer Lingus is also a full sponsorship... can anybody comfirm or deny this? Cheers, SB |
Aer Lingus is a full sponsorship too.

As I understand it you do not have to have any previous flying experience to apply to BA and Aer Lingus and, correct me if I'm wrong, bmi aswell?
However what about the other airlines like British European, Air2000 etc that seem to recruit around Aug/Sep, do you need a PPL with a certain number of hours to apply for their partial sponsorship courses? Or is it only the ones that are run by Cabair? Which ones are these, can anyone tell us?? |
kula,
In the past the following airlines have run schemes with no flying related entry criteria: BA, BM, Aer Lingus (often called EI), bmi, Air 2000, Airtours and British European. British European and KLMuk also operate separate part-sponsorship schemes for those who have 180 hours, PPL etc. All of these come up in flight international, but also try www.cabair.com GOOD LUCK :) :) :) |
