JAR related question
Hello! Technical JAR question: If your CAA ATPL, CPL, PPL is fully JAR compliant and you want to convert it into a Dutch, German or any other EU country licence, will you need to undergo more testing (ground exams, flight tests, medical)?
Other questions are: Which EU countries are fully JAR compliant, and what JAR refers to licence conversions within the EU? |
Hi,
The conversion tables for going from a nat'l licence to a JAR-FCL one are dependent upon, amongst other things, your hours, MP/SP a/c, etc. You will find all details in JAR-FCL 1 (Aircraft), or 2(Helicopter), in Appendix 1 to JAR-FCL 1.005 resp. 2.005. Recognized countries as of today are Iceland, UK, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Spain, Belgium, France, Netherlands & Switzerland. (Not all have implemented Helicopters yet). Btw, EU status has little to do with this, JAA extends beyond EU. Hope this gives some answers! |
