0 hour to ATPL

Hi all,

I am looking at doing intensive study and training towards my ATPL. I am a bit older than most when starting as I am in my early thirties.

I am living in Melbourne and looking at getting vet fee help for the lions share of training and self funding the PPL and eventually the ATPL.

Vet fee help will be approx 77,000 + 20% paid off over a career. And the PPL and ATPL shouldn't be more than approx 25,000.

Does anyone have any recomendations, cautionary tales on pursuing this avenue?

Nelson Aviation College in New Zealand has a great reputation, and a incredible environment to learn to fly. I think recently they have become the preferred supplier on Air New Zealand. Decent prices and I think you do well to go there.

Anyways... Just stay away from RMIT...

Have you been to any of the schools personally to meet the instructors? (or even better, students)

I am currently studying at Peter Bini's - I've just passed my GFPT last week and it's been a great experience so far. I'd happily recommend them.

Were you looking at doing it full time or part time?
