EFIS ADI/HSI Difference?

What is the difference between the electronic attitude directional indicator and the electronic horizontal situation indicator on the EFIS?, as what i'm reading they seem to be described as two different instruments

Erm, they are two different instruments...?

The Electronic Attitude Director Indicator (EADI) displays the attitude.

The Electronic Horizontal Situation Indicator (EHSI) displays the horizontal situation.

The clue is rather in the name. They are both Electronic Flight Instrument Systems, but replace the old Attitude Indicator (or artificial horizon) and directional gyro instruments with a nice clean electronic display which can also show a lot more information.

Thanks for the reply RTN11

Sorry brain fart! i had it in my head that a HSI was an attitude indicator and then wasn't sure what the attitude indicator was, got muddled up

No problem, we all get those from time to time.

I guess it can be confusing, since both can be displayed on a single screen. In most cases it would be separate screens for redundancy, with some sort of composite mode if one screen should fail.
