ATPL Key Facts/ Key Notes

Hello,

I'm studying for my ATPL exams at the moment and came across the ATPL Key notes/facts manuals which I've considered buying: Key Facts for JAA ATPL - Volume 1 - Pilot Training from Flightstore UK

Pooleys Key Facts Volume 2 - Pilot Training from Flightstore UK

I've heard some people say you don't need them as all of this information is covered in the manuals you get from the course provided however sometimes I think it's good to have other sources. They are not too expensive however can someone advise if they are worth buying?

Thanks

Could be handy as a quick reference guide, but at the same time might not cover the detail if you have a specific question, and everything will definitely be in the manual.

You'd probably be better off creating your own "Key Facts" notes, as the act of doing this will really make you think about the syllabus, what's important, and in your note taking you will take a lot of the information in and get used to the references you are using. I learn best using this study method, but I guess it's a personal thing that doesn't work for everyone. Some people seem to read something once and know it forever.

Hi, yeah this is exactly what I've done- I took notes of all of the things I considered important in modual 1 then got a ring binder with dividers for each topic. I also made a card with different words on them (especially good for HPL) so I can make learning a bit more interactive etc.

I'll probably get the books- they will be simplified but sometimes nice looking at other descriptions of information.

There are several versions of this knocking about (this is, I believe, the original source), it can be a handy reference / reminder when working through stuff.

Formulas / ATPL theory summary

Might be of some use?
