EASA CPL
Hi could anyone shed light on how EASA are playing the CPL?
From what I understand you can still do the CPL single, however, to have the CPL issued by e UK CAA you will require a multi engine rating also. The Multi engine rating done either before or after the CPL but as a stand alone rating, not combined. Is that correct? |
I don't believe that's the case, from CAP804 (part L appendices to part-fcl):
(d)6 hours of flight time shall be completed in a multi-engine aeroplane. 1 1. The reference contained in (d) only applies to pilots seeking to conduct a Skill Test in a Multi-engine aeroplane. The UK CAA issued a derogation under Article 14(6) of the Basic Regulation to reflect this. |
EASA
That doesn't seem to be the understanding of flight schools in the UK I've spoken to
|
I'm afraid I hadn't read your question correctly. I don't know if what you've been told is correct. I've looked through CAP804 again and can't find any references that suggest an ME is required, so I'm puzzled.
Hopefully someone else who knows more will chime in. |
